About Me.
My name is Harper Kiseljack, and I’m a sophomore from Aledo, Texas attending Aledo High School. My motivation in life is my passion for horses. Beyond my love for riding, I love the animals first and foremost and it is why I want to become a vet. I am an A and A/B honor roll student, taking all AP/PAP classes and enrolled in advanced equine science which will help me to graduate with a vet-tech certification.
I would love to be at a school where I am able to pursue my academic goals, as well as athletic. Getting to be a part of a team, and being around other girls who love horses and continuing to do what I love would be such a privilege.
I’ve been riding for 11 years and initially trained in English riding. My journey into western disciplines started with barrel racing, but my interests expanded as I discovered cow horse and ranch riding. I trained with Ben Baldus, who helped me develop patience and adaptability while working with cows and the ability to work with horses at different skill levels.
Eventually, I shifted focus to reining, training for the past two years with Josh Tishman Performance Horses. During this time, my horses and I have achieved some great milestones: I won the Rookie Shootout at the 2024 NRBC, earned a Top 15 placement at the NRHA Derby Youth in my first-ever derby, and made it to the Top 25 across all levels at the 100X Tulsa Non Pro Derby.
I’ve attended camps at Texas A&M, USC, OSU, and Auburn, where I learned more about the format and took away something from each of the coaches. I’ll also be attending TCU and Baylor camps this fall & winter to continue building my skills and experiences.
